Lubos Thoma

Biography

Lubos Thoma is an associate professor at the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematical Sciences, University of Rhode Island. He obtained a Ph.D. in 1996 from Emory University. Before coming to URI, he was a post-doc at DIMACS, a member at the Institute for Advanced Study, and a Zeev Nehari visiting assistant professor at the Carnegie Mellon University. His current research interests include graph and hypergraph theory, probabilistic methods, and their applications. He was awarded external, NSF, and internal grants to support his research. He has mentored students in the Ph.D. program and currently serves as a director of the graduate program in mathematics.
