Biography

Erin Denette is a Teaching Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematical Sciences at URI. She additionally serves as the course coordinator for MTH 131, chairs the department Undergraduate Committee, is a longstanding member of the Curriculum Committee for the College of Arts & Sciences, and serves on a variety of subcommittees.

Erin earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics from URI in 2016 in the field of dynamical systems with a focus on combinatorially obtained minimal cantor sets. Currently, her focus is on teaching and improving the undergraduate mathematics curriculum at URI. Erin greatly enjoys working with undergraduate students and has received awards for her teaching. She also mentors graduate teaching assistants in developing their teaching practice.

When not at work, Erin splits her time between doting on dogs on the ground and pursuing her private pilot license in the sky.
