Section 2.2 - The Inverse of a Matrix Section 2.3 Characterizations of Invertible Matrices
The definition of inverse of a matrix is given. Notation, A-1 is introduced. Not all matrices (including non-zero) have an inverse. Algorithm for computing the inverse of a matrix is introduced. Several theortical results are discussed, such as inverse of AT and (AB)-1. Elementary matrices are introduced. Discuss the Invertible Matrix Theorem. Relates concepts learned from previous sections, e.g. linear indepdendent columns, span, solution Ax=0.
