The first Maple assignment is the worksheet on Numerical Integration (num_f03.mws). You can access this worksheet by clicking on the "Maple Material" link at the upper left corner of this page. DO NOT USE WORKSHEETS FROM PREVIOUS SEMESTERS! Please follow instructions in the worksheet on preparing homework. Your instructor will give you further information. General Information

Students with disability (documented through Disability Services for Students, 330 Memorial Union)  should see their instructor as soon as possible to work out reasonable accommodations.

GOALS OF THIS COURSE:  MTH 142 is the continuation of MTH 141, completing the  introductory study of calculus of a single variable for students of science and engineering.  Topics include further study of integration,  applications of integration, introductory ideas in probability and differential equations, and power series.

EXPECTATIONS: We expect that you will give this course 6-7 hours, per meeting, in addition to class time. This is an approximate figure of course, but don't assume that you can spend less time than this and still get a grade you'll like.

ADVICE: The key to success in this course is the problem material. It is very important that you try all the assigned problems.

SPECIAL ADVICE FOR STUDENTS WHO DID NOT TAKE MTH 141 AT URI:  The approach to first semester calculus at URI may be a bit different from the one you experienced.  It is your responsibility to read or review any material from the early chapters of the text that may be unfamiliar.  Also, we make extensive use of Maple in the 141-243 calculus sequence.  If you are unfamiliar with Maple you will have to spend a little extra time catching up.  You will find a special introductory worksheet to help you do this.  You will also learn about how to submit Maple assignments to your instructor electronically.
