Algebra Enhancement Project (A.E.P.) for MTH 103

In the first full week of classes, you will take an Algebra Diagnostic Test. This exam is graded pass/fail. You must score a 70/100 or above to pass and receive 7.5% toward your final grade. If you receive a score less than 70/100, you will be concurrently enrolled in the AEP for MTH 103 Program through which you will be given the opportunity to earn this portion of your grade back. Any student in MTH 103 may choose to participate in the program for supplementary algebra review. If you have a Disabilities Services for Students documented accommodation, please send your paperwork to your instructor in order to receive accommodations for this test.

If you do not pass or do not take the Diagnostic Test, you will be added to the AEP for MTH 103 project. This project will be offered entirely online through the separate Sakai Project Site “AEP for MTH103 - Fall 2018” which provides five mini online lessons that afford you the opportunity to enhance your algebra skills and earn up to the full 7.5% of your course grade back through five corresponding online quizzes.

Knowledge Check Assignments

Frequently, your instructor will assign at least one problem related to the material covered in that day’s class. You may be expected to complete that problem in class and turn it in immediately, to turn it in electronically via Assignments on Sakai later on, or to bring the completed problem to turn in at the next class. Your instructor will communicate their individual expectations. In all cases, you are required to write your solution to the problem(s) up neatly and to show all of your work. Knowledge Check Assignments cannot be made up; however, if the reason for your absence meets the criteria for a makeup laid out in the “Major Exam Make Up Policy” and you contact your instructor with documentation within the correspondingly appropriate timeframe for your excuse, then the related Knowledge Check Assignment will be dropped from your grade.
