You should KNOW 

1. What it means to "solve" a triangle, namely, given some 
information about the sides and angles, to find all of them
when this is possible. 

2. That, with enough information, right triangles can be 
solved by using the Pythagorean theorem, the fact that 
the angles sum to 180 degrees, and the definitions of 
the trig functions, using your calculator when needed. 

3. That non-right triangles can  be solved using the Law
of Sines and the Law of Cosines when enough information
is given, and how this is done.  That problems involving the
Law of Sines may have two different triangles as solutions.
You do NOT need to memorize these Laws.  The formulas
for them (but without pictures) will be provided as needed.
You do need to understand how to use them. 


You should be ABLE TO

 1. Solve right triangles, and non-right triangles, and apply
these to simple "real" problems.
