Introduction
This course is a second course in calculus which assumes you know and can use the
basic ideas covered in MTH 141, including the use of
Maple software .
It is a 4 credit course, and a challenging one.
You should plan on spending about 7-8 hours per week, outside of class, working
problems, reading the text, and working on Maple worksheets.
As in MTH 141, we will approach new ideas and problems from algebraic,
graphical, and numerical points of view.

Evaluation
There will be three exams given outside of class,
on Wed evenings at 6:00-7:30 PM, on Feb 17, Mar 31 and Apr 28.
A comprehensive final exam will be given during the regular final exam period.
Locations will be announced in class. The exams will count 100 points each,
the final 200 points, and 200 points will be based on work your instructor
assigns in class. This will include Maple worksheets and
may include collected homework, quizzes, or special projects.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you did not take MTH 141 at URI last semester you will probably
be unfamiliar with Maple. Our work with Maple is organized
into Maple Worksheets which you
will be able to download from this site and will also be available in the
campus computer labs. The introductory worksheet combined with the Getting Started with Maple
book that came with your text should be enough to help you begin your work. If you would like
