Office: 874 - 2709 or 874 - 7635) email: finizio@uriacc.uri.edu Course Syllabus (brief outline): team scheduling (THIS MATERIAL IS NOT IN THE TEXT), Chapters 1, 2, 3, 9, 10 (and maybe Chapters 11 and 12) Grading Policy: Grades will be assigned according to the following scale: A (93.6 - 100), A- (89.6 - 93.3), B+ (86.6 - 89.3), B (83.6 - 86.3), B- (79.6 - 83.3), C+ (76.6 - 79.3), C (73.6 - 76.3), C - (69.6 - 73.3), D+ (64.6 - 69.3), D (59.6 - 64.3), F (0 - 59.3) Basis for Grades: Hour exams and final exam. (Homework will be assigned regularly but WILL NOT be part of the grade) Exams: There will be three hour exams. These hour exams will be given on the following dates (note that the exams are all on TUESDAYS): February 13, March 27, April 24. Graded exams will be returned, in class, on the next class day. Students absent on the day that graded exams are returned can obtain the exam at 219 Tyler. GRADED EXAMS CANNOT BE PICKED UP BY ROOM-MATES, FRIENDS, ETC. The final exam will be optional (see below) and will be given at the time specified by the Registrar’s Office. If taken, the final exam constitutes 35% of the grade and the hour exam average constitutes 65% of the grade. ALL EXAMS WILL BE OF THE MULTIPLE CHOICE TYPE. Optional Final Exam: Any student WHO HAS TAKEN ALL THREE EXAMS AT THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED TIMES can opt not to take the final exam and their grade will be based solely on their hour exam average (see Grading Policy above). STUDENTS SELECTING THIS OPTION WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN A STATEMENT INDICATING THAT THEY WILL NOT BE TAKING THE FINAL EXAM. Any student that takes a make-up exam or does not take one (or more) of the hour exams is NOT eligible to exercise this option.
