Prerequisites: MTH 243
Exams and Grading:
Course grade will be determined based on homework, mid-term and final exams, and the project. The exams will be in part of the take home variety.
The topics that will be covered are:
basic theory for linear and nonlinear difference equations
stability theory
periodic points
chaos for first order difference equations
fractals
applications
Computer Requirements
The use of computer algebra systems MAPLE is required.
MAPLE notebooks dealing with the different problems in theory will be provided
and demonstrated in the class.
Most of the exams will be MAPLE-aid exams.
