1. To acquire the program, click the link below. This will
download
a zip file.Indicate you want to SAVE TO DISK.
Download Exploring Calculus in zipped form (expcalc.zip)
You will need to use an unzip utility to extract the program files from
this file. If you have a program like WinZip installed on your
Windows 95 system
you can probably just click on expcalc.zip icon. In Windows 3.1
or 95 you can exit
to DOS and use pkunzip. You can download these utility programs from the
URI ftp site:

You will need to indicate where you want to install
the program. For example, you might specify c:\ec as the
directory. You can also do everything on a single blank floppy disk in
drive
a:. Just specify a:\ as the install directory, then download pkunzip to
drive a: and use pkunzip to produce the program files on drive a:.
Next, browse the README file. After unzipping you can delete the
expcalc.zip file.
2. To run the program from Windows 95 or higher, first go to the DOS-prompt. Then press Alt-Enter to go to full-screen DOS mode. Next go to the directory in which you installed the program by typing say, "cd c:\ec" at the DOS prompt. Now type " ec " at the prompt and follow directions in the program. When you exit the program by hitting the [End] key from the program's Main Menu you will be returned to the DOS-prompt. Type " exit " at this prompt to go back to Windows. If you are using Windows 3.1 you should actually CLOSE Windows before changing to the appropriate directory and typing " ec " at the prompt. You will have to reenter Windows from the DOS prompt.
3. Keep in mind that this is a DOS program. You have to read the instructions on the screen. Remember that you can always get back to the program's Main Menu by pressing the [Esc] key. You can then end the program by pressing the [End] key.
